Heavenstrike Rivals is a game of strategy and role-playing, developed by Square-Enix, in which the company that created titles like Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana, proves again why it was once one of the greatest video game makers.
The gameplay in Heavenstrike Rivals is pretty simple: you fight tactical battles on 7x3 squares scenarios. Each turn you can move a certain number of units depending on how many crystals you have. Each unit has of course its own special abilities: some of them can do range attacks, others can heal injured units, and other are very good in melee combat.
In Heavenstrike Rivals you can enjoy a single player campaign mode worthy of Square-Enix. Along this campaign you can use more than 200 different units, each of them with unique animations. And what's best is that you can level them up and improve their abilities as you win combats.
Even though the campaign mode in Heavenstrike Rivals is important, the game also features a spectacular PvP (player versus player) mode. In this mode you can fight other players online.
Heavenstrike Rivals is an excellent SRPG that offers good quality and a good quantity of content. The graphics are absolutely spectacular, and the combat system is sufficiently simple and sophisticated to be really entertaining.
